Budget and Staffing Summary

The Oregon Department of Agriculture's total budget for the 1997-99 biennium stands at $62,834,908. Due to new programs and initiatives&emdash;primarily the Healthy Streams Partnership and Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds&emdash;ODA's general fund budget increased from $13.478 million in 1995-97 to $23.04 million in 97-99. There was also a slight increase in other funds at $35.06 million and federal funds at $4.7 million. Lottery funds, which had played a major role in the budget of certain ODA programs this past decade, were eliminated from the 1997-99 agency budget.

With the addition of new positions funded by the Healthy Streams Partnership, the total number of FTE increased from 374 in 1995-97 to 403 in 1997-99.
