From
the Director
The Oregon Department of Agriculture is poised to assist the industry
and the public in meeting great challenges over the next several years.
Our agency is uniquely tasked with regulating one of Oregons leading
industries while, at the same time, promoting and developing that industry.
Our customers include, obviously, the states agricultural producers,
processors, marketersand all the stops along the way. Our customers
also include all Oregonians, since our food safety and consumer protection
functions literally reach everyone inside the states border. We
think by doing a credible job of assisting the agriculture industry, we
are also doing a service for all of Oregon since a healthy farm and ranch
community helps the states economy and helps to preserve Oregons
quality of life. Our commitment is stronger than ever to provide the best
customer service possible while demonstrating leadership as together we
find practical solutions to todays challenges.
